Patrick Lewis

Jo Ashburner Patrick has over 25 years of local government experience working in some of the most challenging neighbourhoods in London.

Patrick’s career started in community work fusing sports with community development in three of the priority hi-rise council estates in Brent north-west London in 1982. After spending stints in managing youth service provision in the council Patrick went on assist in establishing BEARS Youth Challenge, a local charity whose aims are to widen the horizons of young people with a particular emphasis on young black men. Patrick is the Chairman of this charity and has been for the last 8 years.

In 1996 Patrick became heavily involved in regeneration focusing on neighbourhoods such as Harlesden and Stonebridge, delivering employment based initiatives and education programmes to improve local conditions. With this wider role and in recent years Patrick also became more involved in economic development establishing local initiatives such as the Brent Employer Partnership and the NW10 Connect whilst leading the Harlesden and Stonebridge Neighbourhood Renewal Team.   Recently Patrick now holds the position of the Interim Chief Executive for the South Kilburn New Deal to Communities.
